What made the case work
Attention to detail, clear communication and consistent support throughout the process are what produced a result beyond expectation. From a laboratory’s perspective those three things are not courtesies — they are the working conditions that determine whether a case needs a second round. A prescription that states what is wanted, photographs that show the substrate, and a clinician who answers a question the same day will together do more for the outcome than any single material choice.
Working with clinics outside Vietnam
Cases sent from abroad cannot be adjusted quickly chairside, so the documentation requirements are tighter rather than looser. What the laboratory needs before starting is set out in dental photography for the laboratory and in our outsourcing FAQ.
About the partnership
KING’s Dental Specialist Clinic & Imaging Center is Dr Nyan Paing Thaw’s clinic in Myanmar. Our Facebook posts trace the collaboration:
- March 2023: a post thanking Dr Nyan and the clinic for their trust. As that post notes, the digital workflow is what lets us work with clinicians outside Vietnam.
- April 2023: the clinic sent us photographic feedback on delivered work.
- February 2024: the case on this page. The original post does not state the restoration type, material or number of units, so we have not added them.
- July 2024: we reshared Dr Nyan’s post on a complex case that combined several types of prosthesis. The same post noted that more international clinicians now send us their difficult implant cases.
How an overseas case moves through the lab
These steps describe our standard workflow, not this specific case:
- Data in: intraoral or model scans (STL, PLY or DCM) of the working arch, opposing arch and bite, plus the prescription and clinical photos. Cases can be sent 24/7. See scanner and file compatibility.
- Design: crowns, veneers, custom abutments and implant crowns within 12 hours; All-on-X within 24 hours. See the CAD design service.
- Production: 2 to 4.5 working days, depending on material and number of units.
- Shipping: DHL Express, typically 2 to 4 days depending on the country. Details in turnaround time and shipping.
Because a delivered restoration cannot quickly come back to the lab for adjustment, the questions that matter are settled before production: shade, form and available space. This is where same-day replies from the clinician make a difference.
