On 26 March 2025, Khai Nguyen Dental Lab hosted an in-house workshop with Shofu (SotaD) on two subjects: building pink gingiva with Ceramage composite, and getting the most out of the Shofu Vintage Prime pressed ceramic system. The session was held for our technicians at the laboratory, from 09:00 to 17:00.

Ms Connie Moy qualified as a dental technician in Taiwan. Throughout her career she has focused on practical, high-applicability solutions for modern laboratories — solutions that help a lab meet the clinician’s requirements while reducing repeated adjustments and remakes.
Part 1: pink gingiva with Ceramage composite
The hands-on element covered how to streamline gingival fabrication — shortening working time while holding the esthetic standard — using Ceramage, a composite with 73% ceramic filler. The properties discussed were:
- Resistance to wear, plaque accumulation and microleakage.
- A wide shade system that makes natural gingival tones easier to reproduce.
- A specific fabrication and surface-treatment protocol that improves the durability of the finished work.
This matters most on full-arch implant cases, where artificial gingiva is a large part of the visible result and a large part of the working time.
Part 2: the Shofu Vintage Prime pressed ceramic system
- A fresh, warm shade register that helps balance esthetics and naturalness.
- Manufactured in Japan to consistent standards.
- High flexural strength, reducing chipping.
- Maximum tooth-structure preservation, with effective resistance to crack propagation.
